Anti-slavery and Human Trafficking
Global Lifelines Cleaning Services (GLCS) is committed to preventing modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and similar human rights abuses within its operations and supply chains. We uphold fundamental human rights and ethical standards in all aspects of our business.
Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, forced labour, and human trafficking, where individuals are exploited for personal or commercial gain. GLCS condemns these practices unequivocally.
This policy applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees, contractors, agency workers, volunteers, and suppliers.
Policy Statements
- Commitment: GLCS operates with integrity and transparency in all its dealings and expects the same high standards from its suppliers, contractors, and business partners.
- Prevention: We will not knowingly engage with any individual or organisation involved in slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, or similar activities. We undertake due diligence processes to identify and mitigate risks in our supply chains.
- Training: All employees and contractors will receive training on this policy and our commitment to combating modern slavery. Training includes recognising the signs of modern slavery and knowing how to report concerns.
- Reporting: Employees are encouraged to report any concerns related to potential breaches of this policy. Reports can be made without fear of retaliation and will be investigated promptly and confidentially.
- Collaboration: GLCS works collaboratively with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to improve transparency and eliminate slavery and human trafficking from our supply chains.
- Recruitment and Employment: Our organization conducts rigorous pre-employment practices to ensure all employees are legally eligible to work in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Senior Management: is responsible for implementing this policy, ensuring its effectiveness, and providing adequate resources for its implementation.
- Employees and Contractors: All employees and contractors must comply with this policy and refrain from any activity that could contribute to modern slavery within our business operations or supply chains.
- Suppliers and Partners: Suppliers and business partners are expected to adhere to similar anti-slavery values and principles. They must provide evidence of compliance with this policy upon request.
- Risk Assessment and Due Diligence: GLCS conducts regular risk assessments to identify and assess potential risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in its operations and supply chains.
- We undertake due diligence on new suppliers and periodically review existing suppliers to ensure they meet our anti-slavery standards.
- Communication: This policy is communicated to all employees, contractors, and suppliers. It is accessible via our company website and provided to new employees during induction. Employees are encouraged to discuss any concerns they have regarding modern slavery with management or through our whistleblowing procedure.
- Compliance and Monitoring: Compliance with this policy forms part of the contractual obligations of all employees and contractors. Breaches of this policy will result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal or contract termination. GLCS regularly monitors its supply chains and business operations to ensure compliance with this policy. This includes conducting audits and assessments where necessary.
- Review This policy will be reviewed annually by senior management to assess its effectiveness and ensure it remains relevant and appropriate to our business.
